Constructing site for our caste is most welcomeful effort,
I would like to argue with Mr. RAMESH MADHAVAN.

Who told here his caste-sub sect Marumakkal vazhi in Nanjil nadu is superior than others like Makkal vazhi and Saiva  pillai mar.

That is not true,there is not like that Only they were pannaiyars-Landlord and also in majority there.
My father told me they belongs to tribe and moved to country lands about 300 years .After cultivated lands they also called them as Nanjil nattu vellalas.

Makkal vazhi pillaimars hate all the traditions of marumakkal vazhi thayathhu.Mr.Ramesh please read your relative Kavimani's literature "MARUMAKKAL VALI MANMIUM" then come to conclusion superior or  inferior

I am a non-veg vellalar, my home country is Sri Lanka but right now im in the United Kingdom. My father's parents are a village near Thuraiyur in Trichy, Tamil Nadu.

Basically our community is called the "Aarunaattu Vellalar". There is a sangam called Aarunaattu Vellalar Sangam in Sri Lanka, for the particular community.

I am interested in finding how this section of the Dravidian caste system evolved and its history. I tried to find some information about this in the net, but I was unsuccessful.

I had a look through your website and hope that you could help me with these doubts.

Dear Sir,
It has been observed that in india caste system is very old and evolving all the times.
You may be knowing there are Sivakalai Pillaimar a caste born from Sivakalai Taluk
You may also know this Sivakalai Pillaimar is born from Kottai Pillaimar Parapmpara - caste that lived in around Kottai's -Forts especially to help the Raja's. So this Kottai Pillaimar is now allmost extinct.

It is said that when a big Flood affected the Sivagalai Thaluk, the Kottai Pillaimar women did not cross the flood by raising their saree - pavaadai. The ladied who raised their pavaadai and ran for life to the other side of the Flood are now Sivagalai Pillaimar, now totally transferred and happily living along the Tuticorin District - Mudivaithanendhal. They are colloquially called as "Sevalai Pillai" = Sivakalai Thaluk marvi Sevalai Aayitru.

Now as they predominantly live in Mudivai Than Enthal - a small village in between the Tuticorn - Tirunelveli Highways. They are mostly seeking the Tamilnadu Police or Indain Army Defense services. They prefer uniformed services. They are still following matrilineal system.
After marriage husband stays at wife's house, and mostly obeys wife's and  mamiyar's orders.

They call this as "Meenakshi Rule" - "Madurai Rule" If Husband rules the house it is called as "Chidambaram Rule" - means Chidambaram Sivan rules the house.

So Tamils, Dravidians are a great people, dividing and mutating all the times.

Thats why in my treatises http://saivaneri.org/who_are_saiva_vellalars_or_saivapillais.htm there, i write that in tamilnadu still new cstes are formed, new distinctions are made.

Soon we will see Sivakasi Nadars, Virudhunagar Nadars  as a Separate caste.

So reg. the Aru Naatu Pillai I can only say there must be some history. I dont know till now
As soon as I know it, I will mail you. You may also know 8 Veetil Pillaimar from Thiruvangur Thevasthanam It is still esisting in Kerala Esp. along the KAnyakumari Kerala Border you can see this 8 veetil pillaimar. Its all about groupism and clan dynasty.

8 veetil pillai ruled the Thiruvithangur orTravancore Samasthanam, out of which there are lot of stories of cheating and back stabbing to gain power of the Malayala Nadu. In the Padmanabha Palace, near Nagercoil, the Travancore Samasthanam stories drawn as painting by the Great Raja Ravi Varma, himself a king. His paintings are still kept there.

They say about the family feuds between these 8 veetil pillai, and how they poison the king, etc, to capture power and position. So there must be some stories for 6 Nattu pillai also.

I will certainly tell you, just wait for few more weeks.
